A Course in Miracles - Foundation For Inner Peace8951338
This innocuous book stumbled on my attention in 2005 and it has passed through my hands repeatedly since. I had no inclination to peruse its contents for I'd ceased to trust in miracles. In 2005, I used to be cursing God for abandoning me. I used to be using all of my energy to stave off the hell I descended into Many years earlier by marrying a man as un-Godly anyone could be.
In 2007, while packing some books as donations for any book fair, my hand once again fell on "links". By now, I had secured the divorce from my better half but had been dealing with the fallout. When i grasped it, I became very thoughtful and calm. What was it about this book that invoked feelings I hadn't proficient in a very long time? Me clung to the book refusing to put it down. Understanding that this was an indication that I ought to take a closer look, I designed a cup of tea and sat in my favorite reading chair. With great curiosity, I dedicated to the blue hardcover and browse "A Course in Miracles, a basis for inner peace." Wow. Which was a pretty bold statement but okay, I made a decision to bite. Going for a deep breath, I pondered the obvious question: What's the foundation for inner peace? This book instantly opened an old wound also it had better hold the answer to healing.
"A Course in Miracles" is actually that, a program. Written in three parts, this book isn't to be taken lightly and should not be read per week or even a month. There's text, a workbook for students and a manual for teachers. I'd the sudden urge to fling the book across the room because I was deeply and profoundly afraid. I instinctively understood that after I began reading this book, I had been going to have to change and it was I ready for the journey ahead?
The best movie is "The Matrix". The main character Neo is looking for the answer to the matrix. He understands the matrix exists but he doesn't understand what it is. The man with the answer, Morpheus, contacts Neo and provides the opportunity for truth by giving Neo a choice between taking a blue pill or a red pill. Consider the blue pill and grow ignorant or take the red pill and discover the answer to the matrix. Before he reaches for his pill of choice, Morpheus cautions Neo that will he choose the red pill, they can never get back to the life he previously been living.
"A Course in Miracles" is the red pill. Will i read it and change everything I am aware about the world and myself or will i take the blue pill and make "A Course in Miracles" book fair fodder?
When i choke along the red pill, I flip to Lesson 1 of 365 within the workbook for college students and promptly read, "Nothing I see in this room means anything". Oh dear. Is it too late to take the blue pill?
